The Healing Power of Earthing

Episode Summary

Episode #10: We are entering the Spring time in the northern hemisphere, I have something new to share with you, maybe it's not new, that would be amazing, I love to imagine the world doing more of what I'm going to be sharing about today. I would like to talk to you about Earthing or grounding, it's a beautiful way that we can connect to our Earth, and I have really started understanding the importance of getting my feet in the grass or in the sand and appreciating all of the benefits that it provides. First of all, getting away from technology and taking time to appreciate the birds and the grass, it's so healing in itself, and it gives us a chance to get to know ourselves, and we get an opportunity to really enjoy and be present with the gifts of nature that are all around us. IN THIS EPISODE:

•   It's a really beautiful thing to do. You could set up an altar outside, plant a butterfly garden. My daughter and I did that, I think three years ago. It's so fun, and just create a space for yourself to really enjoy the outdoors. (6:04)

•  Overall, you feel good, and that is ultimately what we're all after, feeling good in every now moment. If you have pain, you have less of it, or maybe none it after you ground. So, if you are ready to normalize cortisol levels, which improves sleep, relieves pain and reduces stress in belly fat, then get to know a grassy area near you, or a beach, and decide to take off your shoes and walk to see our beautiful planet or beautiful Mother Earth.  (7:35)

•  I just like to not wear shoes and go barefoot. I've been barefoot so much this year that I can barely tolerate getting in shoes that are like, you know, the high heel shoes and all of the things. I'm just really going all in hippie, where I'm just like, I just prefer to be barefoot, it reduces jet lag. So if you are a frequent flyer, make sure that you get your shoes off and your feet on some grass or some sand as soon as possible after you get done flying.  (11:02)

•  So many of us have it, and I have lots of pearls of wisdom about that, but for now, if you're feeling cranky bloated, having a feeling of dis-ease, which often leads to disease, then go outside and have some fun walking barefoot. Again, it is so simple, and it is so healing, it also helps with hypertension for diabetics, it improves fasting glucose levels, which is so important, and it all ties back into that inflammatory response that's happening with all of these diseases, which is actually disease. (12:33)

•  Now that you're getting the vitamin D from the sun, and that is reducing your risk of getting the flu, it is reducing your risk of getting cancer, it is reducing Chronic muscle aches, reduces your risk of cardiovascular disease, reduces your risk of depression, reduces your risk of developing diabetes, reduces your risk of getting autoimmune diseases, and it reduces your risk of osteoporosis. That's Vitamin D from the sun. So you have such a powerful combo with your feet on the ground and the sun shining on your face, you have two huge immune-boosting things that are happening that are absolutely free.(14:08)
